NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special joint meeting of the Pasadena City Council and the Pasadena Board of Education will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Pasadena Senior Center in the Multi-Purpose Room, 85 East Holly Street, Pasadena. The special meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the following items:
A. CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
B. PRESENTATION BY THE CITY MANAGER AND SUPERINTENDENT REGARDING THE SUMMARY OF JOINT ACTIVITIES
C. FORMATION OF JOINT CITY/PUSD STAFF COMMITTEE Recommendation of City Manager/Superintendent: It is recommended that the City Council and the Board of Education appoint a Joint City/PUSD Staff Committee made up of senior staff from each organization to prepare research and recommendations on opportunities for partnership between the two organizations. 429k

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTNERSHIP Recommendation of City Manager/Superintendent: It is recommended that the City Council and Board of Education prioritize the partnership opportunities listed below and refer them to the Joint City/PUSD Staff Committee for further review and recommendation. The opportunities are: o Career Internship Program o Truancy Program o Security Rangers o Grounds and Fields Maintenance o Joint Permitting Software o Joint Recycling Program o Joint Facilities Use 1259k
