Under the City's Water Shortage
Plan, in effect since December 2007, all food service venues are
directed to refrain from serving water unless explicitly requested by
the patron. This policy makes sense for two reasons: it saves water from
being wasted, and it saves staff time. Why spend time endlessly filling
water glasses when the customer does not want to drink it?
