Traffic Engineering is responsible for the review
of all requests to limit on-street parking for traffic and parking
circulation reasons.
The
Pasadena
Municipal Code states that there are
two primary reasons parking may be
restricted on
certain streets:
1.
Unrestricted
parking of vehicles has or may cause traffic
congestion;
2. Parking may
create a hazard that detrimentally affect the public welfare or
deprives the public of the efficient use of available curb space.
When it is
determined that a restriction is necessary, the Director of
Transportation will authorize the posting of signs or the painting of
curbs. In most areas parking citations
will be issued. However,
there are times when it will be necessary to remove vehicles to increase
traffic or parking circulation.
