How do you go about getting a new streetlight installed or whom do you call if you would like to have a brighter streetlight?

How do you go about getting a new streetlight installed or whom do you call if you would like to have a brighter streetlight?
The Department of Public Works, Civil Design section, of the Engineering Division is responsible for design or upgrade of streetlights. They have a procedure to evaluate the need for improved lighting. Their number is 626-744-4762.

Who do you call if you see any malfunctioning traffic signals or notice a burnt out signal light?

The Street Maintenance and Integrated Waste Management Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of traffic signals. Please call 626-744-4158 from 6:30 am until 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. After hours or on weekends, please contact the Police Department dispatcher at 626-744-4136. They will contact an employee of the Street Maintenance and Integrated Waste Management Division to repair the problem.

Who do you call if you have problems or questions with traffic signal timing or phasing of an intersection?
The Department of Transportation Traffic Engineering section located at City Hall is responsible for over 300 signalized intersections and occasionally the timing will need to be adjusted. They can be reached at 626-744-4263. The personnel in this section will evaluate the timing or phasing and they will contact the Street Maintenance & Integrated Waste Management Division to make the appropriate adjustments as needed.

Who do I call if my street light keeps going off and on or will not come on at all? What do I do if I notice a light out in one of the City parks?

The Street Maintenance & Integrated Waste Management Division is responsible for maintaining over 18,000 street and park lights. To report a problem, please call 626-744-4158. If it is after hours, please leave a message so that we may repair your light as soon as possible.

Who do I call if there is a missing stop sign?
If you notice a missing stop sign during normal working hours, please call the Street Maintenance & Integrated Waste Management Division at 626-744-4158. After hours or on weekends, please contact the Police Department dispatch at 626-744-4136. If there is a missing or vandalized street name sign, call 626-744-4158. Please leave a message if you call after working hours.

Who do I call for street painting and/or new signage?
The Department of Public Works Traffic Design section of the Engineering Division, determines the need for new striping or signage. If you feel your neighborhood needs these improvements, please call 626-744-4303.
