The City has been
installing LED (light emitting diodes) traffic signals. The program has been
estimated to save the City 85% in the energy costs related to traffic signals.

The Traffic
Signs and Painting activity is responsible for:

and maintenance of directional and regulatory signs

striping
of crosswalks, centerlines, curb markings (including the Rose Parade
pink and blue lines)

for special events

We have been experimenting
with thermoplastic striping. This type of striping has a longevity of
5 to 7 years. Current products require that street painting be scheduled
every 12 to 18 months.
