SUMMER RECREATION FUN FOR YOUTHS
 

School’s out for the summer! Wait, now what?

Parents need not worry, there’s plenty for their children to do this summer that promises to keep the kids safe, healthy and mentally fit. And most activities are free or low-cost!

This year, city of Pasadena is teaming up with such partners as National Football League, Day One and CORAL to provide lots of summer fun and adventure.

Summer Day Camps (for ages 5 to 13)


Villa-Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa St.:

Summer Enrichment Adventures in Science introduces participants to biology, chemistry, earth science, and astronomy. Recreation and leisure activities include music, dance, sports, swimming, arts & crafts, computers, and field trips.

Victory Park Center, 2575 Paloma St.:

International Arts Program that introduces participants to different cultures. Each week kids will explore new traditions, foods, dance, art, and music. Recreation and leisure activities include swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, sports, nature walks, and field trips.

Allendale Park, 1130 S. Marengo Ave.:

Play & fitness introduces participants to great physical and interactive activities. Kids will participate in group games, sports, nature hikes, arts and crafts, drama, swimming, and field trips.

Neighborhood Parks (for ages 5 to 13)


Enjoy the summer breeze with fun-filled recreation activities that include sports, group games, swimming, arts and crafts, dance, tennis, field trips and more at neighborhood parks.

Teen Enrichment Activities (for ages 14 to 16)


No reservations needed; just drop in and enjoy teen programs that include computers, fine art, graphic design, ping pong, video games, physical fitness, swimming, field trips and career day.

Aquatics (all ages, those 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult)


The Aquatics Program provides recreational swimming at:


Blair High School Pool:

 weekdays, 1 to 4 p.m.; Saturdays closed; Sundays noon to 3 p.m.


Pasadena High School Pool:

Mondays through Saturdays 1 to 4 p.m.; Sundays noon to 3 p.m.


Robinson Park Pool:

Mondays through Saturdays 1 to 5 p.m.; Sunday closed


Villa-Parke Pool:

weekdays 1 to 4 p.m.; Saturday noon to 3 p.m.; Sunday closed

Swim lessons are offered Mondays through Thursdays at:
Blair High School Pool, 10 a.m. to noon; 4 to 6 pm; Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon


Pasadena High School Pool, 9 to 10 a.m.; 4 to 6 p.m.


Robinson Park Pool, 11 a.m. to noon


Villa Parke Pool, 9 to 10 a.m.; 4 to 6 p.m.


CORAL Center Pool, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 4 to 6 p.m.

NFL Camp (for ages 7 to 14)


One day only! Marcus Robertson and Chad Brown’s Offensive & Defensive Football Camp introduces participants to the fundamentals, skill development, discipline, determination, and dedication of playing football. Participants work out with current and past NFL football players. At Victory Park on Saturday, June 20.

Youth Month (for ages 5 to 16, depending on event)


For the 15th year, Day One, city of Pasadena and other community partners will provide numerous exciting and fun-filled activities for youths throughout August. Most activities are free except some low-cost activities and field trips. Activity calendars will be available in July at public counters. Previous Youth Month activities have included college trips, family fun days, museum tours, Magic Mountain, Raging Waters and more.
