POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLIES
FOR YOUTH SERVICES FUNDING
The Pasadena Police Department has applied for a $342,008 Recovery Act
Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) from the U.S. Department of Justice to
help preserve the positions of six youth advisors, six police cadets and
a police officer position assigned to the Youth Accountability Board
program.
The grant would preserve 7 positions for employees who support programs
that provide guidance and supervision to at-risk youths and preserve 6
positions for employees who are working as cadets, hoping to become
future law enforcement officers. It requires performance measures
focused on preserving and creating jobs along with the standard
non-supplanting requirement.
All of these positions for employees within this grant support the
police department’s service to youth within the community.
