Commander John Perez


John Perez has been a member of the police department since 1985 and began his career as a police cadet in Records. He has worked many different assignments before becoming a commander. His prior assignments have included Counter Terrorism, Special Enforcement Section, Special Investigations, Community Services and Internal Affairs. He currently is the commander for the Criminal Investigations Division that includes the Forensics Unit, Detectives, SIU and SES.

John holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, a graduate degree in Behavior Science and is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Public Policy.

John is married to his wife Norma and they have twins boys –
Josh and Jacob.
