PUSH CART VENDOR LICENSE

The Push Cart Vendor Program supports entrepreneurs in creating successful businesses and employment opportunities. Most of the current pushcart vendors come from unregulated home based businesses. The program helps to maintain the business in a legal, professional manner.

 


 

LINCOLN AVENUE FESTIVAL

Each November, the Lincoln Village, a consortium of commercial enterprises and non-profit agencies host the Lincoln Village Festival. The festivities celebrate the successful re-emergence of Lincoln Village as a neighborhood commercial area. The goal of the festival is to acknowledge the revitalization efforts of the community by celebrating what can be accomplished when the community all works together.

LUNCH WITH THE FUTURE PROGRAM

The City of Pasadena Northwest Programs Office, in partnership with staff from the Mentoring Partnership for Youth Development Participants and Flintridge Foundation, hosts a program at John Muir entitled “Lunch with the Future.”

 

The program is designed to encourage students to pursue a college education and/or vocational training programs and explore career options once they have completed their high school education.

 

Guest speakers from the public and private sector, as well as community-based organizations, are invited to make a presentation on their academic skills, employment opportunities in their field of specialization, educational programs, and provide information on vocational and training programs available in the San Gabriel Valley.

NORTH LAKE VILLAGE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

In showing the City’s commitment in strengthening the partnership with northwest businesses, staff is involved with various business associations that strive to promote economic development, public, safety and livability. One such group, The North Lake Village Business Association strives to promote economic prosperity, growth and neighborhood vitality in the North Lake Village area.

 

The NLVBA holds their public meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. at the Pasadena Enterprise Center (PEC), 1015 North Lake Avenue, in the Second Floor Conference Room. The City of Pasadena Northwest Programs Division has a great program to provide high school students with on the job experience at special events throughout the year with the City and other non-profit agencies. To qualify for the program, the student must attend a local Pasadena high school, obtain parental permission, and complete the registration process. The hourly rate is $8.00.
