With a Community Vision for a specific plan, the Fair Oaks Avenue Redevelopment Project Area emerged to protect, support and preserve the surrounding residential neighborhoods by establishing appropriate land uses, development of standards and design guidelines

With the recent pattern of revitalization and transformation of this vital area of northwest Pasadena, City officials, in conjunction with the Pasadena Community Development Corporation, developed a plan to enhance the quality of life for the Fair Oaks/Orange Grove community, thus, re-establishing it as a lively focal point in the City. Utilizing planning and urban design concepts, the Plan provides for economic development, improve the quality of life, and neighborhood beautification.

  • Fair Oaks Renaissance Plaza.  655 North Fair Oaks Avenue Construction of a Shopping Plaza with 70,000 s.f. of retail including Von’s Grocery and additional 14,000 s.f. of neighborhood retail space.. Completed 1998-1999, Corner retail completed 2002.
  • 30 West Mountain Office Building.  Relocation of Historic Victorian House and renovation to provide start-up office uses.   Completed 2002.

  • Foothill Vocational Opportunities.  789 N. Fair Oaks Avenue.   Construction of new 18,000 s.f. industrial and training facility for developmentally disabled adults.  Completed 2002.

  • Heritage Square Development.    760 North Fair Oaks Avenue.   Mixed-use development of 106 affordable rental units for seniors and 4,000 s.f. retail uses.  Planning Stage.

  • Kings Villages Rehabilitation.  Fair Oaks at Washington.  Upgrades to housing development with new paint, fences, doors, new recreation/playground; site and unit lighting; window awnings.  Near completion.

  • Rosewood Court Housing.  1888 North Fair Oaks Avenue.   New construction of 65 units of affordable housing for very-low income seniors with supportive services.  Under construction.
