COMMENT ON Planning STUDIES & PROPOSED ORDINANCES


 

PasadenaThe following are projects, guidelines or planning items in which the Department of Planning is currently accepting online comments in addition to the regular public meetings.  All projects continue to go through the regular hearing processes and attendance and comments are also encouraged to be made at the respective public meetings.

 

 

GENERAL PLAN UPDATES

 

Open Space & Conservation Elements

The City of Pasadena is undertaking an effort to update the Open Space and Conservation Elements of the General Plan.

 

Land Use & Mobility Elements

Pasadena is updating the General Plan Land Use Element in 2009.

 

PROPOSED ORDINANCES

 

Second Unit Regulations

The City’s Second Unit Ordinance, regulates the construction of second units in Single Family residential zones.

 

Major Project Processing

This is a proposed Zoning Code Amendment to require that a Conditional Use Permit for nonresidential projects 75,000 square feet or greater be reviewed by the Planning Commission and be appealable to the City Council.

 

Emergency Shelters

This is a proposed Zoning Code Amendment that will establish regulations for Emergency Shelter and determine which zones this use will be allowed by right.

 

Lower Hastings Ranch

This proposed Zoning Code Amendment will revise the development Standards for Lower Hastings Ranch.

 

NORTHWEST PROGRAMS PLANNING EFFORTS

 

Lincoln Avenue Specific Plan

To achieve community consensus for the revitalization of Lincoln Avenue between West Mountain Street and the north City boundary by defining a land use pattern and capital improvement projects that support and encourage reinvestment in the Lincoln Avenue Corridor.

 

Northwest Commission Strategic Plan

The Northwest Commission Strategic Plan is designed to articulate a strategy with the purpose to upgrade and restore Northwest Pasadena in a viable consistent manner for Pasadena residents.

 

Northwest Pasadena Marketing Plan

Development and preparation of a Marketing Plan that promotes the resources of the Northwest Pasadena area, educates and changes the perceptions of the area while cultivating a better appreciation and value for the community.

 

OTHER PLANNING EFFORTS

 

Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Reduction Plan

The city has developed a Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Reduction Plan in response to recent state legislation and to inform the General Plan update process that is currently underway

 

Study of Late 19th/Early 20th Century Residential Buildings

The State Office of Historic Preservation recently awarded the City, through the Certified Local Government program, a grant to conduct a study of Late 19th/Early 20th Century Residential Architecture (1881 – 1904).
