Code Compliance Programs

Proactive enforcement is provided by Code Compliance in the City of Pasadena. Code Compliance enforces compliance of the City's Property Maintenance, Housing, Zoning and Health Codes within residential and commercial districts.

Aggressive enforcement in targeted areas of the City is provided by Code Enforcement Task Force Teams. Each property is inspected for code compliance within these targeted areas.

Emergency enforcement is provided through the City's Resources Against Slum Housing (C.R.A.S.H) Team. Under the direction of the City Prosecutor, a Code Compliance inspector, along with a team of other department inspectors, provide emergency response and abatement for severe code violations.

Owners of properties in violation of City codes are subject to property inspections, notices of violation, Code Enforcement Commission Hearings, City Prosecution, and Cost Recovery Hearings. All costs necessary for abatement of City code violations are borne by the property owner.
