Project Description
The
State Office of Historic
Preservation recently awarded
the City, through the
Certified Local Government
program, a grant to conduct a study
of Pre-craftsman-era Residential
Architecture (1881 – 1904). The
project involves preparation of a
Multiple Property Documentation Form
(MPDF), Nomination of two Historic
Districts and 10 individual
properties for listing in the
National Register of Historic Places,
and a
historic resources survey of all
residential buildings constructed
between 1881 and 1904 in the city.
The project will begin in October
2009 and, per state requirements,
must be completed by September
2010. Anyone interested in the
project should monitor this site
periodically and submit any
comments, questions, suggestions,
information or other input on the
project using the link below. We
would particularly be interested in
receiving historical photographs of
buildings from this period.
