PLANNING DIVISION
PROPOSED ORDINANCE REGARDING
EXTENSION OF TIME
LIMITS FOR APPROVAL OF PLANNING ENTITLEMENTS
Numerous
projects that have secured entitlements for development have not
been able to proceed with construction due
to current economic conditions. For discussion is the
possibility of extending the current time limits to allow these projects
to be completed.
The general public and all interested members of the community
are encouraged to provide input.
Staff is developing a recommendation to extend the
time limit for approval of planning entitlements. The proposed
recommendation would:
-
Authorize the Director of Planning and
Development to grant an additional one-year extension to
planning permits and entitlements beyond the extension currently
provided by Section 17.64.040.B.4 of the Municipal Code; and
-
Provide for sixty-day period after the effective
date of the proposed ordinance, during which an applicant for a
permit which had expired within one year prior to the effective
date of the ordinance may submit an application for extension;
and
-
Provide that the authority of the Director to
provide such additional extensions shall sunset on December 31,
2010, unless specifically extended by the City Council.
Community members are invited to submit comments by
May 15, 2009 through the City of Pasadena’s website.
