Pasadena's successful One City, One Story began in 2002 with the selection of Mark Salzman's The Soloist followed in 2003 with Leif Enger's Peace Like a River; in 2005 with Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner; in 2006 with Octavia Butler's Kindred, in 2007 with Bo Caldwell's The Distant Land of My Father, and in 2008 with Jennifer Vanderbes’ Easter Island. Each year the program has drawn strong community participation.

Our next communitywide reading fest is scheduled for Spring 2009. The continued success of the program is dependent upon financial support from local business, corporate, civic institutions and individuals.
