 Program Overview 

Program Overview Our goal is to provide quality job training programs that offer our "customers" the chance to compete for good jobs. The Career Center offers services to those seeking training and employers seeking qualified applicants to fill jobs. Programs are offered through the Foothill Private Industry Council One-Stop Client Center. The Center is located at 1207 E. Green St. in Pasadena and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The One-Stop Career Center offers one-stop access to a broad selection of training and employment services. The One-Stop Career Center can be contacted at (626) 796-JOBS.

 Eligibility & Certification

Once you have attended a FPIC orientation, you may be eligible for an official JTPA certification appointment. A JTPA certification appointment is the first step toward qualifying for services. A FPIC Eligibility Specialist will help guide you through the certification process. During the certification appointment, you will be asked to share some personal information with the FPIC Eligibility Specialist. Your patience is greatly appreciated during this process.

To complete the certification process, it is necessary that you provide one (1) document from each of the following categories: NOTE: more than one(1) document may be needed for Category I.
 

Category I

Household Income - collect information to verify past six (6) months income for yourself and any family member living in your home within the past six (6) months.
This may be verified by: Employment Pay Check Stubs, Current Social Security/SSI verification, Employer Letter, UI Check Stub/Printout, Disability/Workers Compensation, Layoff Notice, Public Assistance Notice of Action Letter, Proof of Foster Child Status, Letter of Support From Non-Family Member.

 

Category 2

Citizenship or Right to Work - provide a copy of U.S. birth certificate, alien registration card, U.S. passport or NU11 printout (see FPIC Staff for details).

 

Category 3

Family Size - Required documents include individual birth certificates, medical insurance cards for each family member, public assistance notice of action, landlord statement.

 

Category 4

Proof of Residence - a current utility bill or some other form of postmarked mail (within the last 30 days).

 

Category 5

Social Security Card.

 

Category 6

Picture Identification.

 

Category 7

Selective Service Verification - If not available, a call will be made to Selective Service.

 

Walk-in appointments are available (with all of your documents) Monday through Friday beginning at 8:30 a.m. To receive a schedule certification appointment for that day, you must have all documents. Walk-ins are seen on a first-come first-serve basis.
