Field Archery & Bowhunter Archery - Free
The Pasadena Roving Archers, Inc. utilizes a 28 target regulation field Archery (roving) range and a 218 target bowhunter range on Lower Arroyo Park.

Field Archery Tournaments are held every Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 3D Tournaments are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.  Bowhunter style tournaments are held once a month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  visitors are welcome.  Participants must have their own equipment.  Tournament fees are $2 for members and $5 for non-members.  Call (626) 447-7600 for more information.

 

In-Line Skating

You'll receive instruction at your own level and age group from different instructors at the same time! The classes are for all levels and ages 5 and up. Students will receive all gear and skates free of charge. Once geared up, they will be split into groups based on experience. Two or more instructors will be available depending on class signups. Protective gear (elbow & knee pads, wrist guards and helmet) is mandatory!  Join anytime, on-site registration.  For information please call California Skate School at (888) 880-7655.

Dog Obedience Classes - $65 (10 Weeks)

Offered by the Pasanita Obedience Club, Inc. in Brookside Park.  Classes are 10 weeks long and run continuously throughout the year on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.  Pasanita has been conducting dog obedience classes for over 50 years and they re co-sponsored by the City of Pasadena.  These classes are recommended by the Pasadena Humane Society.  For further information call (626) 797-7070.

Fly Casting Instruction – Free

Learn the fundamentals of fly casting and fly fishing or polish your own technique.  Instructors are members of Pasadena Casting Club - many of whom are nationally recognized experts.  Arroyo Casting Pool is located at 415 South Arroyo (at California and Arroyo blvd.)  Rods are provided or bring your own.  This program is presented in cooperation with the Human Services, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department.  For more information call Will Trefry at (626) 799-4373.

Lawn Bowling - Free

Youth Month

August is Youth Month in Pasadena.  Throughout the month activities are held to engage school age youth 7 year through 17 in a variety of events.  There are trips, college tours, seminars, art projects and many other activities to entertain, enrich and teach children and youth.
