February 21, 2009 Traffic and Parking Advisory Due to the anticipated large crowds, please plan on arriving prior to 1:00 pm to guarantee parking and avoid road closures. We also recommend taking advantage of the free shuttle operating from the Memorial Park Gold Line Station. The Amgen Tour of California will bring the drama and excitement of a professional cycling race to Pasadena on Saturday, February 21, 2009. The Amgen Tour will feature the world’s top cyclists and atheletes and the return of Lance Armstrong to the world of cycling. The Pasadena Center Operating Company is proud to host Stage 7 of the Tour which will feature a finish line on West Drive and a Lifestyle Festival/Kid Zone in Lot K of the Rose Bowl. The Festival will open from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm and will feature exhibitor and sponsor booths, an interactive Kid Zone, food and entertainment. For more information about the event please visit www.visitpasadena.com/ATOC The anticipated arrival time of the cyclists is around 2:30 pm. Cyclists will enter the City on North Linda Vista at Highland Drive and proceed southbound on Linda Vista turning left on Salvia Canon into the Rose Bowl recreational loop. The cyclists will proceed along the closed circuit course (below) for a total of 5 10 minute circuit laps. Parking Information for Spectators: Parking Lots will open at 9:30 am and the fee to park is $10.00. Parking will be in lots 5, 6, 1A, & 1. Late arrivals will park in Area H and Lot I. Parking is not allowed in the residential neighborhoods surrounding the Rose Bowl. To view a map of the parking locations please open this link: http://www.rosebowlstadium.com/RoseBowl_parking.htm. A free shuttle will operate from Memorial Park Gold Line Station. the shuttle will operate from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm every 20 minutes. A complimentary bike valet will be set-up centrally within the Lifestyle Festival in Lot K. Sponsored by Metro, just check-in your bike and roam the festival area sans bike! Lifestyle Festival & Kid Zone Map: (Download PDF) The Lifestyle Festival & Kid Zone will be located in Lot K along the west side of the Rose Bowl. There will be a concession area and vendors selling merchandise within the festival area. Please bring cash as there are no ATM’s within the immediate vicinity of the Rose Bowl. Beginning at 2:00 pm the streets will be secured by Pasadena Police at each intersection along the route. Emergency vehicles will not be affected by road closures. During the road closures, residents who need to leave their residence should contact a police officer posted on their street so they can be assisted in leaving their home. Every effort will be made to accommodate residents. There are no freeway or offramp closures for this event. The Rose Bowl loop will have limited access for general recreational users on the morning of the event. Between 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm recreational access will be resticted to maintain the safety of the public, participants, etc. In the early morning, anyone wishing to jog, bike or walk around the Bowl should take Arroyo Drive, proceed northbound on Arroyo Blvd., and turn right into Lot I in front of Brookside Park. Brookside Golf Course & Country Club Access: Anyone wishing to visit the Brookside Golf Course & Clubhouse should exit Arroyo/Windsor from the 210 fwy, proceed southbound on Arroyo Blvd. to Wotkyns Drive, left on Westgate, right on Arroyo Blvd. and wait for Pasadena Police to direct them across Rosemont into the Clubhouse parking lot. Kidspace & Aquatic Center Access: Anyone wishing to visit the museum or aquatic center after 1:00 pm should enter from California and proceed northbound on Arroyo turning right into Lot I.
